[RC] Electrolytes causing horse to quit eating - Magnumsmom

Blue quit eating after I gave him his electrolytes so I'd give them
at the end of a check or whatever.  However, I have found if I take
a water bottle and rinse out his mouth after giving them he's a lot
happier... goes back to eating and even takes another drink before
we head back onto the trail.  It doesn't rinse the e-lytes back out,
he already ate them.  It rinses off the excess salt burn.  He's much
happier since I started doing this.

Also, instead of using bike water bottles like I did for so many years,
I found that the large sport cap water in 24 oz bottles fit the snug
packs just as well and carry the same amount of water as a large
plastic bike water bottle.  So I just use those. Then, if I've used one
for Blue I can grab a fresh one at a vet check and not have to "share"
his green slime.  I buy the box from Costco.  Very convenient to have
in the car or truck at all times... especially here in NM.
