Re: [RC] To breed or not to Breed - Arabs4sprtThe below from Linda Tellington-Jones is a load of crap. It is very well documented by writers who actually lived with bedouins that they put great store in a good jibbah (the inflated sinus that causes the face to look dished) and mitbah (the way the throat joins with the head). See Lady Anne Blunt's writing for information on this. And by the way, those wonderful CMK horses, well mine at least, have much more beautiful heads naturally than those fake horses at the Arab shows, where they have to shave the eyelids to make small eyes look big, and use cosmetic surgery to correct a thick neck or a face that doesn't have what mine have got naturally. Many of those showring horses don't look like Arabs without their makeup and special facial clipping -- it's an optical illusion. Unlike those fake ones the horses with naturally beautiful heads often have great behinds, shoulders, bone, and joints to match. If you select for truly good qualities in a horse you'll get it all in one package. Linda Tellinton Jone s has a reference in her "Touch" book. Said something about the arabs didn't like dish faces, they liked a straight face or a moose nose better. They sold off the dish faced horses to Europeans. << ============================================================ People in Alabama swear by manure tea as an herbal remedy for colds. ~ Lisa Redmond ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
