RE: [RC] The 'X' Factor (was: Mitochondiral DNA, etc.) - heidiA couple of years ago Salim Nice and I did a study of registered Arabs competing in the AERC rides. We investigated the lineage for six generations back and determined the number of times a particular horse appeared. Did both Sires and dams. If any one is interested I can put it up as an insert to an e-mail on line. I can do it in MS Access or MSWord or both. It did prove quite interesting and dispelled certain myths as well. The fallacy of this approach is that it does not tie the horses in with any specific programs and does not illustrate the relationships. It is the programs that are what stands out, not any specific "super sires."
