[RC] re: to breed or not to breed - A. PerezYou don't mention of you have any experience foaling a mare or not. If not, and if you have not already read it, I'd read 'Blessed are the Brood Mares' before deciding. It is a very sobering look at what can go wrong during foaling. It is perhaps a somewhat overly pessimistic book, in that it focuses what can go wrong rather than whatgoes right, but it is very imformative. It made me decide that if I ver breed, I will send my mare of to a laying-in farm rather than foal at home, as I work full-time and would not want to risk a difficult foaling with nobody home. Yes horses do it in the wild all the time, but I bet foals are lost in the wild pretty often as well. ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag ============================================================ If you treat an Arab like a Thoroughbred, it will behave like a Quarter horse. ~ Libby Llop ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
