RE: [RC] Ground Control Horse Shoes. - Jerry & Susan MilamI've used GC shoes for 4 seasons now and have found them to be very good in wear and traction. I really don't think they slip any worse on wet grass than steel shoes do. I did have a friend who tried them say her horse's hoof walls were crumbling with them and had to remove them after only a week. Beacuse they are fllexible, they do transmit vibration into the hoof wall. If your horse has good hoof quality they should work fine. I kept losing nails initially and finally my farrier started using a larger headed nail and have kep the shoes on well. Also, if I'm doing road riding, I will need to reclinch occasionally because of the movement on the nails. Please Reply to: Theresa cheyennetwalker@xxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I'm looking into getting the Ground Control Plastic horseshoes and was wondering if anyone has used them and what are the pro's and con's to using them. They look like they might be stong and hold up well.
