RE: [RC] Borium or studs for Tevis? - Jerry & Susan MilamWhy not use ground control shoes? They're awesome on rocks;just like wearing tennis shoes. They do allow slide with the trot too:) Susan & Fly Bye (who hasn't worn a steel shoe in 4 years) -----Original Message----- From: ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Lif Strand Sent: Tuesday, June 01, 2004 9:32 AM To: Ridecamp Subject: Re: [RC] Borium or studs for Tevis? Doesone type or the other cause too much grip or torque? Are you now training with borium or studs? If not, don't use them on Tevis. You know one of the cardinal rules of endurance is that you don't try something new at a ride. Personally, I'd think that boruim or studs would be a Real Bad Idea for riding that trail. But then I think putting anything on a horses' feet that doesn't allow a bit of slide is a Real Bad Idea anyway. If it's that slippery, then I don't need to ride. If it's not slippery, then I don't need borium or studs. ________________________________ Lif Strand fasterhorses.com Quemado NM USA ============================================================ I drink a 50/50 mix of rootbeer and soymilk at the vetchecks. ~ Libby Llop ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================ ============================================================ Prudence and focus will carry you a long way on a horse. ~ Frank Solano ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
