I don't think insurance folks in CA have much of a sense of humor, probably with good reason. Even the AAA guys are pretty serious. For instance, last summer I rode out of a staging area that is a ways off the main road on a dirt road that is part of a state park (Driver's Flat Road, for those of you familiar with the Auburn area). I had been having one of those mornings, and like an idiot I locked my keys in the truck. I had to hike up to the main road to get reception on my cell phone. So I called AAA and the conversation went something like this: AAA guy (sitting in some air conditioned cube in SF probably): "Where are you?" me: "Driver's Flat Road in Foresthill" him: "Er, I don't show that road" me: "How about Foresthill Road?" him: "Oh yes, I have that! What address are you at on Foresthill Road?" me: "No address, just Foresthill Road at Driver's Flat. Tell you what, do you have a driver in Foresthill?" him: "Oh yes! Foresthill Tow." me: "Great! Tell the driver to go to the corner of Driver's Flat and Foresthill Road." him: "Ok. Please describe your vehicle." me: "Well, it's a green F350 but he can't see it from there as it is down the hill. Just tell him to look for a lady with a horse at that intersection." him: You have a HORSE?!!!!" me: "Uh huh. Just tell the driver, ok?" him: "But are you SAFE????" me: "Sure, she's a trained attack horse [all 13 hands of her]" him: "What?!" me: "Just kidding, I'm fine. Please tell the driver Driver's Flat Road; he'll know where I am." him: "Ok.......are you SURE you're ok?" me: "I'm fine. Thanks for your help." him: "Have a nice day". ["Hey Joe, you won't believe the call I just had..."] :-) Dana
