Re: [RC] LD vs Endurance... can't we all get along? - Cidinha
Hello American Friends
Let me try:
In Brasil there are another discussion. Here, limited distance/category is
a ride where a rider has a time to do it. We call Velocidade Limitada = limited
speed. They are short rides: 27km, 35km, 50 km. Brazilian riders use these rides
to training his horses, to know about Endurance and to initiate in
Endurance.
After a time, they run in Limited Distances: 50km, 60km, 74km.
Comparing with Fórmula 1: Ayrton Senna (of course I have to mention him),
Schummaker, Rubens Barrichello (another Brazilian), Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson
Piquet, Alain Prost etc. etc.. etc.. don't began in Fórmula 1 races, but in kart
races.
In all sports - voleyball, basketball, football (soccer), tenis, etc. etc.
etc... exist the initial categories where they learn how to do the
sport.
In every sports there are places to everyone: who wants to compete, who
wants to have fun, who wants to participate.
I think that the discussion about Endurance in the world should be about
the high speeds developed by the arabians.
I was in Abu Dhabi (National Day Cup, December 4) with Luiz Alberto M de
Carvalho e Silva, the only endurance blind rider in the world. He was invited by
HH Sheikh Mansoor after read two articles that I wrote to Endurance World
Magazine. And I was worried and scared with the high average speed (23 km/h, 24
km/h) in the ride.
In Presidents Cup, the winner complete a 160 km ride in 7 hours!!!!
Comparing with Fórmula 1 today:
Ferrari = UAE riders. To me: there is no fun to watch Fórmula 1 race
because I know: Schummy will be the winner and the others, Mac Laren, Willians,
Lotus etc... will dispute the third, fourth, fifth place.
In Endurance is happening the same.
Hope you can understand my point of view.
In Brasil, some Endurance riders are organizing the rides because we don't
have new endurance riders. The new riders are scared: only exists
rides of 80 km, 120km and 160 km.
Subject: Re: [RC] LD vs Endurance...
can't we all get along?
Now...THIS is a good way to end the dispute all together! Put it in
a language many of us can't understand!! Works for me! Thanks,
Cidinha, for putting an end to this foolishness!
No
Brasil, discute-se uma outra categoria: velocidade limitada - provas
onde os cavaleiros têm um tempo para completar. São provas para se
iniciar tanto o cavalo quanto o cavaleiro no esporte.
A
discussão sobre o Enduro/Endurance hoje deveria se voltar às
altas velocidades que os árabes estão desenvolvendo. Caso contrário,
teremos campeonatos onde os primeiros lugares serão garantidos pelos
árabes e o restante do mundo disputando outras posições. Vide fórmula
1 com a Ferrari.
