Re: [RC] re: posting/balance from rc guest - Becky Rohwer
I usually get off my horse about 1/4 mile from the vet
check. If I know it is coming (if out check). I like to loosen my
cinch, take the bridle off, I have a rope halter under the bridle that I hook
the rein to for a lead rope, then I start feeding my horse pellets as we walk
into the vet check. That lets me stretch my legs for the trot out
coming, helps with my horse's gut sounds at the vet check, and also gives her
a chance to start calming and pulsing down. Then I hit the water trough
right away and in no time at all am ready for a pulse. I have to watch
my fingers while passing out pellets though. Verocious appetite kicks in
and she is ready to eat anything close to the mouth.
