Re: [RC] Decline in 100's - Truman Prevatt

Yea, I mentioned barfing on the trail - that's either you or your better half ;-). No kidding about prizes at 100's but that could matter less. There's normally no-one left there to see you get it anyway. Every one else has packed up and gone home. The RM is normally to sleepy to say your name right - although they have kown you for years.

I remember the best prize I every got at a ride was when Ruth gave out directors chairs with the ride logo it for 100 top 10 - which was everyone that finished that year. I've still got that one. Ahhhhh yes the memories that brings back. About 5 mile to go I was getting very cold - would you believe cold in Mississippi in April. My feet were frozen and I was also getting sick. I ate something that didn't really agree with me - in fact it was becoming very disagreeable. I got off to barf and decided to walk a bit to warm up. I'd whacked my knee on a tree earlier and that was getting stiff. I start the get on the tall mare and my foot would not go up that far, my knee was too stiff. I tried the other side but I could push off the bum leg.  I started to look for a log, ditch or anything to get back on. I ended up walking the last five miles. Yes wonderful memories - freezing, waking and barfing.....................I would not trade them for anything much less a "better prize" or an incentive.

Hey you are speaking for me!  Actually I barf way earlier in a loop.  Some of the worse prizes I have got were on 100 milers.
