Re: [RC] LD catagory....? - Maggie MieskeI started out doing 25 mile comp and LD on my first Arab, Jonathan. When Malik came along, I knew I had a horse that could eventually do 100 miles (it was the rider I had doubts about). Malik was 8 last year and ready. We did our first 100 and LOVED it. I am planning to do that 100 again this year. The Wolverine Ride is offering a 75 this year and I am hoping to talk trail boss/co-manager, Jim Yell, into bringing back the 100 on a regular basis. Of course, don't know how I can manage AND ride my own 100 but I would like to do the 100 on the Wolverine trail. Next month, I am planning on doing a back to back 25 comp on Sat/25 LD on Sunday and riding with some friends and people new to the sport. It'll be a fun ride. A training ride for some newbies, I hope and FUN. Did I say that already? :) There IS room under the tent for all of us. :) But I can't describe the feeling that finishing a 100 gives you...ya just have to do it.
