[RC] wintec saddles FLAIR vs CAIR - Libby & Quentin Llop DVMCAIR
& FLAIR:
Both systems are improvements over
traditionally flocked saddles, as the air bladders permit the horse and
particularly the shoulder blade to move more freely underneath the saddle.
Weight is more evenly distributed and pressure points are reduced. The
FLAIR was developed first, after a great deal of research: it was designed to be
an alternative to wool flocking that could be installed in almost any brand or
type of English style saddle. CAIR copied the two bag pattern of
FLAIR, simplifying it to reduce both price and maintenance. It is
installed as original equipment on Bates® & Wintec® saddles. The
FLAIR system can be much more thoroughly customized to accommodate the hard to
fit horse.
Pictures and more
information - I just put them on our website, www.InvernessFarm.com. There is
also a page with some pictures demonstrating how the Wintec 500 has too much
rocker for some horses, (hence our tree modifications). (For Netscape
users try http://home.earthlink.net/~qhll/AIR-Saddles.htm and
