Re: [RC] Fwd:Arabian dispersal in Kansas-www.skyeyesranch.com - Vicki AustinOn the other hand, there are many people who are willing to care for someone elses horses, and find good homes for them after they are healthy and sound. Many of my horses were "free" and turned into champions. Not that I couldn't afford to buy the horse but because I didn't want to buy "that "horse but would be willing to take it and care for it so save its life. And many of them spent their lives very happy with some of my students who could not afford to buy a good horse but that I gave to them when they were ready for one. They were four H kids, Show kids, Dressage kids,Pony club kids, long distance kids, pleasure riding kids, all who got their start on a "free" horse. --- Juneir@xxxxxxx wrote: Free horses are never a good idea and encourages people who can't afford to take care of one. If you can't afford $750 for a horse (so she can pay her rent and keep a roof over her head) maybe you don't need one and most likely can't care properly for it. We all know that the real cost is in the upkeep. Just my opinion but based on the lack of respect people often have for freebies. June __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
