Re: [RC] : What will they think of next (Poop Patrol) - Barbara McCraryIt happens all the time. Example in CA: Livestock auction yard on the outskirts of a agricultural town. Lovely oak-studded grassy hills all around. Subdivisions sprout up all around the auction yard, houses bought by people who were perfectly aware of the sounds and smells. Pressures from the residents of these new houses ultimately drove the auction yard out of business. Currently, there are rules in our county forcing home-builders to acknowledge that agriculture is not always about pristine smells and they are compelled to leave at least a 200 foot buffer zone, plus an 8 foot solid fence between them and the agriculture activities. It also forces the builders and owners to acknowledge that pesticides will be used in the ag operation and they can't complain about it after they have moved in.
