[RC] Southern California - picking up horse poop - sandy . l . holder

With regards to the Newport Beach, CA and So Cal in generally, my husband was recently offered a wonderful job in Orange County (Aliso Viejo).  After traveling down and spending a weekend looking for horse property, we learned an awful lot.  #1).  We're not moving down there.  Terrific horse people sent all kinds of great info to me, connected us with great real estate folks (Laura - THANKS!) but it was a no go.  Why?  There are VERY FEW places to have horses and NO AVAILABILITY of property (one place in Rancho Carrillo I'd love to retire to but not practical otherwise for us).  #2). Trails are a challenge (there are some wonderful places if for the most part you want to trailer to them).

All I can say is, the folks in Southern California REALLY have a challenge to do endurance. . . so, even though the horse friendly's welcomed us very warmly, we're going to stay put where we're spoiled in Northern California (and can still ride on trails from our property).

Good luck with the whole pick up your poop as you ride thing. . .

Sandy
