Re: [RC] ride times??? - heidiSo, if I understand this correctly, if I leave the start gate at a ride fifteen minutes after the starting herd, that time is not taken off my own time??? And, same for if I stay in a hold after the VC for longer than the designated hold time? I'm new and learning this all. Yep. The clock is running from the time the starter starts the ride. Anything you do on that time (leaving late or spending extra time at vet checks) is a part of your riding time. But--it is often time well spent, if it means either a) you stay in control of your horse at the start and either don't have a wreck or don't boggle his mind or his body, or b) you leave the vet check more prepared for the trail or on a horse that ate or drank better. :-) (And if you're riding for completion anyway, and not up against the elapsed time limit, it really doesn't matter much in the great scheme of things... :-) ) Heidi ============================================================ You don't have to be a 100-mile rider or a multi-day rider to be an endurance rider, but if you want to experience the finest challenges our sport has to offer, you need to do both of those. ~ Joe Long ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
