Sleeping:
I normally don't have any problem although the alarm clock goes off way too early. Not being a morning person that part of the sport really sucks.
Horse: We use electric fences, and try to place our camp and our horse pens so as to minimize the potential for loose horses running through our camp/pens and causing problems.

Ditto ........... has worked fine for 12 years now.
Breakfast:
I've tried everything and bacon and eggs works best. A real breakfast that will carry me through and I won't get the mid morning let down. I stay away from coffee and tea since you can only rent it and the rent comes due at about 12 miles.

Snacks:
Nuts, granola bars, apples, oranges, etc.  I stay away from the carbo bars and stuff like power bars unless of course I want to barf on the trail.

Drinking:
Dry martini - stirred not shaken, oh you mean water. Carry a water in a bottle with me and take a good long drink with EmergeC at the checks. I find things like Camel backs too hot to wear.
