I normally don't have any problem although the alarm clock goes off way
too early. Not being a morning person that part of the sport really
sucks.
Horse: We use electric fences, and try to place our camp and our horse pens so as to minimize the potential for loose horses running through our camp/pens and causing problems.
Ditto ........... has worked fine for 12 years now.
Breakfast:
I've tried everything and bacon and eggs works best. A real breakfast
that will carry me through and I won't get the mid morning let down. I
stay away from coffee and tea since you can only rent it and the rent
comes due at about 12 miles.
Snacks:
Nuts, granola bars, apples, oranges, etc. I stay away from the carbo
bars and stuff like power bars unless of course I want to barf on the
trail.
Drinking:
Dry martini - stirred not shaken, oh you mean water. Carry a water in a
bottle with me and take a good long drink with EmergeC at the checks. I
find things like Camel backs too hot to wear.

We
imitate our masters
only because we are not yet masters ourselves, and only
because
in doing so we
learn the truth about what cannot be imitated.
