This is a very true quote for a prefect world but we do not live in a prefect world. No matter if you cheat at one ride or every ride or if you are one of those people that they talked about burning tents or one of the Florida ladies they refereed to as coffee drinking biddies sitting under there awing you have to have compassion, honesty and integrity to be a real winner. 1st place, 5th place, 50th place it is nothing but a number that in 20 years from now will not mean anything. If you can go to a ride and you can honestly say you rode the best ride you could do that day no matter if you came in first place or got the turtle award. If you had the integrity not cut trails. You showed compassion to the horses, fellow riders, crew people, wife's, husbands, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends and everyone else there then in fact you are the real winner. These people that cut trails, burn tents, or drinking coffee under there awing and are rude will never know what it is to be a real winner no matter what place they finish in.
