Re: [RC] Horse's Feet - Maggie MieskeYes, rings on the hoof can indicate a CHANGE, positive or negative. It can indicate an illness or a change in feed or a change in routine (training or conditioning or a new owner/place)...that sort of thing. It will grow out eventually. Nelson likes to mystify people because he can tell by how far down the rings have grown approximately when an "event" has taken place. :) It's nothing to worry about. Just looks funky for awhile. :) Miles of smiles, Maggie http://arabianquest.com/samaha_arabians.htm "So many of our dreams seem impossible, then improbable, then inevitable." When we did Alma (I'm in SA) the vet asked if my horse had been sick in the last two months. He said that the hoof showed him the horse was sick. I have never heard this before, is it true? Howard (?) called it a 'stress ring', but there was nothing new with him appart that we started doing LSD and road work. He always wears shoes and the program is the same that I have been doing since 2001. Can anyone give some insight please?
