RE: [RC] [RC] Trail judge etc. - Howard Bramhall

It is cowardly, and how come any time some of these rumors start (like the one about the ole biddies) it's always from a "Guest" post? How convenient is that?

The Ride Manager of this paticular ride is one of the most "stand-up guys" we have down here in the Southeast. If even a whisper of this rumor were to hit his ears during his ride something would have been done about it then and there. Last year, when he found out about a rider who had switched horses at his ride (and, to give this rider some credit, he was only helping out a female rider who had lost control of her horse on the trail) he instantly disqualfied both riders. No exceptions to the rules even if the intention of the rule violation was an honorable one. There was even a protest filed by the rider but, this Ride Manager prevailed.

To wait 3 weeks after the ride and post something like this is not only cowardly, it's completely and totally worthless. If you, as the poster, have proof or know this happened, then do something about it. File a protest now. Otherwise, keep your worthless trap shut, please.

cya,
Howard (sorry for all that, but folks like this, who slither in thru the backdoor without a backbone, sicken me)

If you have proof, file a protest. Anyone having hard evidence of cheating
has a moral obligation to talk to the ride manager, and/or file a protest.
If you have no proof or are too cowardly to file a protest, don't say
anything. Rumor mongering is not productive, and is cowardly.

As far a trail judges. The AERC does not need any new rules or
requirements. A ride manager can post people on the trail, put up
passwords, places to stamp rider cards, or anything else he/she feels is
required to ensure a fair competition.
