My experience is that while only a part of the
training transfers, enough does that it is well worth the time. You will
find that she is spookier while ridden than ponied, but much less spooky than
she was when you first took her out. When you decide she is ready to go
out alone some of the spook will come back.
I think you are doing things properly.
