[RC] more re public land/lifestyle - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Ray O'Donohue rno2m@xxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== CindY: re"please, don't use your political muscle to force a New England (or any other region) lifestyle on westerners"...well,remember,that public land belongs to her,and to me in Va.,as well, and to you.Part of the reason people love living in the west is the benefit of access to land they didn't have to buy. So,your beloved western lifestyle depends to some extent on what I and others are providing you. More power to you;I hope you are having a ball. But if your lifestyle is changed in some way you don't like, by "all the people",including people from the coasts for ANY reason, rational or otherwise....this is not unfair to you.My horse owning buddy in Montana has 60,000 acres of public land adjoining his property line. That's why he bought the place.Pretty nice deal for him, provided by all of us! ===========================================================The whole ride experience can be very hard, and at times you question why you put yourself through such abuse. But then you remember all those moments when you pop up over a hill and are suddenly surrounded by the most stunning views. It's just you and your horse and for a moment time stops and you can hear the angels sing. Therein lies the addiction, at least for me. ~ Leslie Beyers ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ===========================================================
