Re: [RC] Wolfes attack for fun??? - ChrystalI hate to jump in here as it is not endurance related and that is why I am on this list , however I used to live in Fort Nelson( waaay up North in B.C>) and wolves were a part of life, they were often in our backyard at night, they were everywhere!!! They never hurt a person and we all learned to bring our pets inside at night, there was a big push on when I lived there to kill the wolves, our town was famous for a couple of weeks as Paul Watson ( Greenpeace) and Farley Mowat followed by news cameras campaigned to save the wolves ( in which they suceeded) , one of the speeches that helped save those wolves was about how the U.S has decimated their wolf population in many areas due to groundless fear of them, and how as Canadians we should learn from that & not repeat the same mistakes. And as for all this being "hard, cold fact" well....I think that is a bit over the top and there is a danger in believing something just because a scientist or two "says so". They have been know to be wrong,:-) I KNOW I can find other wildlife bioligists that would disagree with the idea of wolves killing for "fun"., so who would be right? <heidi@sagehillcm k.com> Sent by: To ridecamp-owner@ww <DarkHorseGoddess@xxxxxxx> w.endurance.net cc <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject 04/12/04 11:25 PM Re: [RC] Wolfes attack for fun??? you, they only kill to eat, when attacked or in fear of an attack. Raven Well, Raven, then you will also have to disagree with the game biologists who monitor them and count their kills. Clearly the wolves you know are a species from another planet--not the real flesh-and-blood ones who live here. This is not my "opinion"--this is hard, cold fact, as observed and tallied by actual people in the field who actually study wolves as a career.
