I have a different reaction when I go to Arab
shows....I admire all the horses that I wish I could "steal" for endurance
horses....then I admire those saddle seat riders--the good ones--that can keep
any kind of seat with those park horses!! Years ago I trained for about 1 year
with a saddle seat trainer and until you ride in a saddle like that and
horses like that (big park horses gaits)....you have no idea how bloody hard it
is to look good!! I came from an "A" level hunter/jumper background and
then tried saddle seat. It is much harder than riding a big horse
over big jumps as far as I was concerned!! It was very humbling.....don't knock
those people until you have sat in their seat.
