Heidi, you've just described Holly who is off at the trainer at this moment
being 'cured' of this! She goes down the road with her head in a
medium set (we don't do the flat QH thing, but she's no stargazer, either)
and throws this little leap, hump, kick/buck thing in for fun. I'll be
going to work with the trainer and her in a week or so...can't wait to see if
she's actually going to get over it!

can't buck AS WELL with an elevated head...
I've seen more than a few
who could tuck their noses right into their chests, arch their necks, get a
GOOD hump in their backs, and increase the catapult effect by getting some
lift in front first with a slight rear before effectively pitching the
riders right off over the top. (Oh, yeah--usually to buck off some
macho guy who thought he could ride 'em by just keeping their heads
up...
