Hi Heidi,
Neither. Try a full sheepskin saddle cover. They are
awesome! I've had mine for 6 years now and it's just
beginning to show holes in the sides. The leathers
are under the cover so they can't pinch your knees.
This also protects the saddle from rubbing and let's
you know if you like to swing your feet (guilty!).
I have also used the sheepskin tube covers. I like
those too. Actually, for a while I had tubes under the
full cover to double protect the saddle... but that was
really overkill.
Hope it helps. I like to put more stuff on the saddle
than I put on me.
