Clippers are interesting to introduce. I haven't had a horse that's
not used to them already in a long time so my new guy has been a hoot.
Funny, he let me do a blanket clip on him, just didn't want me to get near his
ears with the evil loud machine. Doing a bridle path has been more
difficult. I've been putting the clippers around his shoulder area and
turning them on, then off before he freaks. Then maybe a cookie for
him. On, off, on, off then I leave them on for awhile. Then off,
more cookies. Then on and move them up the neck and stop if he gets too
upset, back down, more cookies. You get the idea. This is a horse
that wouldn't let you touch his ears or mouth. He had been eared and lip
chained extensively before I got him. At the last lesson I got the back
half of his bridle path done. YAAAA!!! It's amazing how this horse
has responded to being told how good and brave he is, and a few cookies.
He still acts like someone is going to hit him sometimes but it's going
away. He's the 2nd hardest horse I've ever had to get over stuff.
Good luck and whatever you do don't get mad. Just get as far as you can
and start again the next day, or whatever. You have all the time in the
world.

How did you do that? I can't get near my horse with clippers.
