[RC] [RC] Windpuffs - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Nicole z_arabs@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Even if you just turn him out for the next 6 months, you won't know if you had an injury and you won't know if it is healed unless you do an ultrasound (although if you are going to rest him anyway, you can do the ultrasound at the end of the rest). -------------------------------------------------------------- Not to mention that if it IS a tendon injury, turning him out to romp and play is likely to cause more harm. I've dealt with a tendon injury in a hind leg that was called a "windpuff" by the first vet to see it. It's now healed, and the horse has done several LDs & 50s on it, but it was a long road (well worth it for this horse & I pretty much doubled all the time estimates given by the vet just to be safe). ~Nicole ============================================================ Black care rarely sits behind a rider whose pace is fast enough ~ Theodore Roosevelt ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
