Hi: The vinegar maybe dissolving the stones that sometime are
created in the horses. I have used it for at least ten years. I use true apple
cider vinegar not imitation flavoring. The horses will ready drink their water
with a good dose of this vinegar. It can be added to ride water after it is
obtained from and separate from ride water to disguise any un pleasant smells or
tastes in ride water also.
At a recent Pony Club Meeting, my vet mentioned Apple Cider
Vinegar. She said that a friend of hers started using it and noticed stones
(tiny enterolithes) being released in the manure. Had not seen these before
the vinegar. She was under the impression that they were being caused by the
vinegar. I thought that the vinegar was possibly allowing them to be released
versus staying in the gut and growing larger. Any thoughts? Beccy in UT.
