Consider that she may have to learn about camping
before competing. Consider: Go camping alone or with a few
friends. Go on organized trail rides. Go to endurance rides, camp,
ride her lightly and volunteer at the rides. (The ride managers will
love you.)
Personally, I would not use any alfalfa hay at
rides. Yes, when she relaxes she will learn to drink strange water.
Old horseshow persons flavor the water at home, and the horse show.
