For those of you experienced in using any type of high tying set-up, do you
use flat nylon halters or rope halters? Having lost a once-in-a-lifetime
mare when a trainer tied her with an oversize rope halter (she got the side of
it in her mouth, dislocated her jaw and crushed the nerves in her face,
paralyzing the left side of her face and throat so she could no longer swallow)
I am curious. I still use rope halters myself, although the appropriate
size and tied properly, but I haven't used one of the hi-ties and am considering
it. Experienced input would be appreciated. Thanks.
