Re: [RC] [RC] Fencing - Rae Callaway

Creosote is illegal. You can get Carbolineum and it works wonders in
keeping the beavers off the fences. It makes for a nice looking fence, too.
I first put it on mine 6 years ago and am now having to restain as they are
starting to chew again. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than having to replace
the entire fence every 5 years like I was having to do before!

Cresote is very toxic. If you run one electric wire on a standoff on the
top
board, they will leave it alone. Doesn't cost much.I use one strand to keep
mine off the hogwire fence.Has worked for 5 years. You can get a solar
charger for around a 100.$ that works fine.Or even a pulg in one at the
hardware store if you have power for about 35.$Even though it says to
mount
indoors, we put it outside and it is covered with a bucket, then we run a
cord to it.

My horses have decided to really chew our fences
and posts the last while. I was told that cresote
would stop them from chewing........any opinions??

Thanks

You don't have to be a 100-mile rider or a multi-day rider to be an
endurance rider, but if you want to experience the finest challenges our
sport has to offer, you need to do both of those.

We are talking about all the tools we can use to keep our horses safe and
alive at the rides. Training/conditioning is one of the best tools
available. It makes us better horseman and women, it benefits our horses
and could quite possibly be the key to preventing most crashes.
