Re: [RC] egypt trip - Barbara McCrary

Are you sure Indonesia is a good place to go now considering the religious
and political situation? We have a friend who was working there, and with
the country heavily Muslim, and the anti-American leaning, it might not be
wise to go there just yet. Our friend left and came back to the states,
even though he had made great friends there. Sad.....

.... I can't wait to see where my feet take me next! Steph? John?...

hmmm... I'm thinking grass roots endurance in Indonesia might be
interesting!!:)
There are bunches of simularities with the US SE region (bugs and humidity
and sand
and jungle and ...) Sounds just like the kind of place you might enjoy
traipsing through?? :)

Or maybe ft. howes as it provides challenging (fighting fire b/f the ride
etc.) but
more familiar (they have owls:) territory:)

anyway, I'd like to thank you for sharing. I was taken away:)

Riding alone is when you teach a horse all the "tools" and "cues" he needs
to handle the trail, to hold a speed, deal with hills, etc. It's also
where
you develop the "bond" that causes him to "defer" to you before losing his
cool.

There are 2 ways to win at this sport. You take a horse and race him for a
short time and then find a new horse or you can take one horse , do the
homework and spend many miles and years enjoying that horse.
