My name is Casi, I am from Wisconsin, and I just joined this list
today. I joined because I am researching endurance and trying to learn as
much as I can before I try it this year.
I was reading the archives and the thread on Hidalgo really interested
me. I am a Spanish Mustang breeder who happens to own a gelding from the
Gilbert Jones breeding (just like the real Hidalgo). In fact, he is going
to be my horse for endurance. He loves the trails and he can really
go! He is also quite a character, as all my Spanish Mustangs are.
The movie was not far off in portraying this breed's personality and
intelligence. They really do think very highly of themselves!
I LOVED the movie, I'm not sure if it's all true, but that doesn't matter
much to me. There is a good site about Frank Hopkins and Hidalgo, and
I would recommend everyone check it out... www.FrankHopkins.com
Anyway, just thought I would respond to this thread since this is something
I have some knowledge of. Thanks for listening!
