I would not use WD-40 or any oil product on
plastic. It will not be a good lubricant, and will absorb into many
plastics making them soft. Silicones are good plastic lubricants.
Ideally, they should be put into the plastic at the factory (obviously a little
late now) , but are effective applied afterward. Spray modest amounts and
see what happens.
