Re: [RC] conditioning help update - kit kat

Hey everyone,

Ok, I borrowed a heart rate monitor and borrowed a race track to take my milage. This is what I found.

My horse walked 1 mile in 13 mins and 31 sec. Her average heart rate was between 85 and 95( Keep in mind that im a heavy weight rider)

My horse paced(she is a standardbred pacer) one mile in 4 mins and 8 sec with an average heart rate of 160. She dropped in 2 mins to her average at a walk. That is also the slowest pace I can get outta her.

I did 4 miles in 47 mins ( that includes getting off and readjusting my sturrips)

When I get off her heart rate drops right away down to 60 or lower.

So, is this ok? or am I doing something wrong? Is there something I can change? Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Sarah and Clover Penny
