Re: [RC] [RC] horses and weather - Laurie DurginA few thoughts .Some horse love to eat trees(even when they have a round bale 24 hr.s) Poplars, dogwoods, saplings of any hardwood. They skip the pines unless very young.(SE).Some horses will TEACH your non-tree eating horse to eat trees(even if they have hay). Some horses will visit other barns and teach those horses to EAT TREES. (You may have an amazing record of 4 places!! your horse has been and taught other horses to EAT TREES.Some horses will then ignore the grass on the trail to snack on trees and leaves!(actually it was my daughters show horse).@ND thought. I have a four stall barn that all doors open out, works well on rainey, hot or cold days to let them choose to go in or out. With a run in your bottom of the pile horse may not 'be let in' . When I 've had more horses here than stalls , the bottom of the herd guy stands outside sometimes in the rain, cause the stalls are 'taken'. Course sometimes there is an empty stall and someone is standing out with head down looking miserable, to see if I'll look out and feel sufficently sorry for them to dress in rain wear, mud boots, and go lead their miserable little fanny in.(I'm sure thay all laugh about it after I go in). Laurie and Rascal, Honey, Scout, Champ, and why are those 3 ponies staying here?
