So true. When my beloved Vesper died (yes, I LOVE my horses :o) I wanted to donate the carcass to one of the many local animal shelters/habitats where they have large cats, etc. Found out this is no longer an option, at least in L.A. County. Seems they are afraid of what the horse might have died of, and what diseases might be passed on to the carnivores that end up with it. Oh well. I have to chime in on the subject of the "bullet in the brain" thing. I have placed many a bullet in many a brain. Just could not do it to my own horse. Kudos to those with the intestinal fortitude to do so though. I would do it for someone else, no problem. Maybe I should work out a trade agreement with a friend if the need ever arises on either of our parts....
