RE: [RC] OT: Sunburn/Hair loss on horse's face? - Snodgrass, BonnieMeanwhile I would suggest getting this horse a Crusader fly mask, long, that covers the whole face including the noce area. There is no way to apply sunscreen frequently enough to shield a horses nose. The Crusader mask (Toklat?) really works. Possible that the extreme sunburn was caused by eating a plant such as alsike clover that causes photosensitivity. I know this doesn't help, but you may want to get a list of plants/substances known to cause photosensitivity so that he's not exposed again. jeri =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
