RE: [RC] [Guest] HR monitor - Ridecamp ModeratorGabi, I've been into distance riding since 1996 and just now bought a HRM. I went with the Polar because it is wireless to the reciever. There are 3 connectors that go different places on the horse and as long as your receiver watch is not more than 3 ft from the transmitter it monitors everything. They have all kinds of models, basic to very expensive models. I got the one just up from the basic model, the A3 model. I got mine from Moss Rock Endurance and her customer service has been great. The factory battery gives you 2500 hours with the HRM on of performance before you need to get another battery. The only down side to this is you have to send the receiver back to the factory for a new battery. Turn around is 2-3 days tho. I tried mine out this afternoon and think it's absolutely fantastic!
