[RC] Trails & Camping - DreamWeaver

There are a lot of great long distance trails that are available for equestrian use. The people at the Continental Divide trail sent me info on all of the areas that are available to ride on, this trail goes from Canada to Mexico: http://www.cdtrail.org/map.html There are some sections where horses are not allowed, or it would be very difficult due to lack of parking/camping.

Awhile ago I found this website. It is the diary of a woman who rode the Pacific Crest Trail in 1985. http://members.tripod.com/~SWadeHorse/ The map shows the trail going from Canada to Mexico.

I think the link to the PCT has already been posted. Another great trail is the Tahoe Rim Trail: http://www.tahoerimtrail.org/ You can ride around Lake Tahoe (literally). I think this is probably a contender for one of the most beautiful trails that I have ever ridden on.

And, this page has links to many other trails:

Probably the most famous long distance horse trail is the Pony Express trail: http://www.xphomestation.com/frm-history.html Parts of it probably go over some of the Tahoe Rim Trail, possibly the Western States Trail, and further east the Oregon Trail and Mormon Trail. http://www.octa-trails.org/home.asp
