[RC] President's Cup Webcast/Questions on UAE horses - SuzanneI watched a lot of the webcast, it looked great on my Mac. I also found it to be very entertaining. Although I must admit that I am easily amused, and since I have elected to do away with TV (almost 8 months television-free now!), maybe I am TOO easily amused! The whole thing was fascinating to me, even though it bore very little resemblance to what I consider endurance. But I must say, I thought the first 3 horses looked sensational. I watched them going out for the final loop, and saw that these horses are phenominal atheletes. I was especially taken with #19, Shah, I believe a 12 yr. old gelding. Truly breathtaking. Does anyone know anything about this guy's breeding? I hear so much about so many USA riders selling their horses to the UAE for big $$$$$. Does anyone know where the top finishers came from? Just curious here. Also wondering how many miles some of these horses have? Maybe they are shooting stars, I don't know, but would like to know the facts. As far as all the vehicles surrounding the horses, that was hilarious! Can you imagine cantering along with all 50 members of your crew right beside you?? "Hey, toss me a cookie, would ya?" "Geez, getting thirsty here" "C'mon, how about a sandwich?" "Got another beer?" All in all, I found it very interesting, although I did miss the Potatoe interviews. I was looking for some footage of his horse. You gotta love that mare.
