1. You have a new promising prospect that you?ve had under saddle for 3
months. You are at his first ride and he wants to go and is recovering
well.  Your arch enemy riding his green tired horse leaves the last vet
check just ahead of you.  Do you:

A. Warn your crew that ?He?s going down? and walk your horse in circles
at the out timer until time to pursue. 

B.  Grit your teeth, smile sweetly and continue to ride your own ride. 

C.  Not notice who left ahead of you since you like to take a nap at vet
checks.

2.  Which best describes your vet check area:

A. Bucket of water and a sponge. Flake of hay.  Bucket of electrolytes
with a syringe.  

B. Large muck bucket of water. 2 sponge buckets with loose sponges. 2
pans of beet pulp & grain slurries. 2 flakes of different types hay.
Saddle rack with stethoscope & rump rug neatly arranged.  Chair for the
rider with basket of people goodies. Halter & lead rope.  Electrolyte
tubes, mixed and neatly arranged in order to be used.

C. You don?t set up a vet checks, simply vet through and go back to your
trailer.

3.  When you get your map at the ride meeting. You?

A. Toss the map aside since knowing where you are doesn?t get you there
any faster.

B.  Ask questions about where your crew might meet you on the trail.
Later that night you do your best to memorize the location of landmarks
so that you can gauge your progress throughout the ride.  

C. Listen intently during the ride meeting as to the location of water on
the trail, then carefully put the map in your pack for reference
throughout the ride.

4. You gave $1,200 for your 5 year old horse 3 years ago. Since then you
have conditioned carefully and completed 700 miles of endurance. You
finally decided it was time to see what he could do and you won and got
BC.  After the ride an agent for a foreign interest makes an offer that
is more money than you have ever imagined your horse was worth.  Do you:

A.  Accept the offer, buy a new aluminum 3 horse slant and 2 more horses
which you hope to sell to the same buyer eventually.

B.  Lose a little sleep over the offer, but keep your horse.

C. Say, "Of course not! He's a member of the family!"

5.  When you get your rider card back, do you:

A. Toss it.

B. Take it home and stick it in the drawer with the others.

C. Glue it in your horse's scrapbook.
