Re: [RC] deaths in equine sports/my rambling - Stefffi_cdoes anyone know about horse deaths in other disciplines? I grew up riding at a large, competitive dressage, CT, and H/J barn; in the lower levels of the sport, in my area, I knew of relatively few horses that actually died as a result of the rides. There were a few accidents over jumps, but the only horse I can really remember the circumstances of his death was a middle aged HJ horse who'd retired to lessons. He landed coming off a jump and fell down; He had a massive tumor growing around his brain and spinal column, somehow jumping made him become paralyzed and he had died in the hour it took the vet to respond. I'm sure other disciplines have their deaths, but I can't remember many over the years I was involved! Stephanie __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
