Re: [RC] Preventing Treated Horses - Susan GarlinghouseThat would be a good start, although at events such as Pan Ams, etc. that draw horses from all over the continent, or WECs where they even fly in, I'd also sure like to see CPKs, SGOTs (sorry, no caffeine yet--what do they call those nowadays), and BUNs. ASTs. I do the same thing all the time. Anyway, all of those can be checked with an on site i-Stat. The cartridges are about $4-8 apiece for a group of parameters. The i-Stat unit isn't cheap, but there are enough of them around these days that it's reasonable to expect to borrow one. I'd always be happy to bring mine along at any ride I was vetting.
