RE: [RC] Preventing Treated Horses - Bob MorrisMerryben:
This
is an open reply and consists of only my opinions on the matter.
This
entire thing started, not for want of what many call the grisly details but for
want of the facts. A simple set of facts, rather. Did horses die? Where did they
die, What was the proximate cause of expiration?
Now,
the many AERC Board of Directors had over the years, mandated that this
information be obtained, reviewed and reported upon. This was never done and so
the question naturally arose. Who is hiding what since they won't
tell?
Well,
for my part, after getting years of the runaround, I finally found out that
there were no records kept. No one had any concept of who, what, when or
where covering horse fatalities. In fact the reports were supposed to cover
all equines treated as well as fatalities. There is no comprehensive record of
treatment either.
Now
this did not become a recent thing. This has been a runaround for over twenty
years. The current problem is that a few more persons became concerned and it
just could not stay buried any longer. That along with instant communications
that are open to all will bring us an answer.
