[RC] [RC] Need opinions - Rides 2 Far

If I feel that my horse is tired (then, he probably is), I 

am NOT > going to keep trotting a tired horse in the heat.  If my horse

is > with 8 or 10 miles left to go to the  I would get off and walk on
foot 

O.K. I have *no intention* of even beginning to think I could give Julie
advice...but I have a question for those of you who live in areas where
there isn't a tree every 10 feet.  This is one of those things I've
thought about while looking at the photos of the desert.  Has anybody
ever been bizarre enough to consider an umbrella?  I know what a huge
difference a little shade can make and I do believe that if I left out
with 10 miles to go, a tired horse and no shade I'd grab the golf
umbrella and a gallon of lemonade and go for a stroll! :-)
