[...] Yes. Don't forget though that this is all assuming normal hauling conditions. How much truck you need has as much to do with where you drive as it does to do with how heavy your load is. Except in emergency situations. Rarely, the brakes on your trailer can become disconnected or disabled. The battery or emergency braking mechanism can fail (when is the last time you *tested* your battery and/or mechanism? I found my battery was loosing it's charge every few months. We have a small battery charger). In an emergency or unexpected situation all of the best planned can numbers go out the window. The only trailer manufacturer (that I know of) whose brakes are set up to deal with an emergency situation is the Brenderup where they use physics instead of mechanics to make sure the trailer will come to a stop.
