A while back Steph asked the rhetorical question of where
would we be 20 years from now and i got to thinking of where it could
go.... There will be less breeders and the price will go up for good
Arabian Horses and other breeds also. Especially when people see they can
buy a good horse cheaper than they can raise it. AERC will have
10,000 members and the biggest percentage will be LD'ers and have a bigger say
and political base. Mexico and other Central American States will become
members and have rides down there and some people will go there to train and
live and compete. Cliffie Lewis could be the National Champion to the
AERC's newly formed NC format. There will even be an LD NC who did the
amazing feat of completing 30 rides and 750 miles. Most of us ole foggies
will be gone and a new crop will start sprouting. The Endurance Hall of
Fame Museum will be located in Branscomb, Mo. as people criss cross the country
more and more. Some 100's will be gone and Multi-Days will be more
plentiful. Endurance will not be in the Olympics. FEI will manage
their own rides across the world rather than jump into an existing one.
Endurance Riding and Endurance Racing will be 2 seperate events. But the
biggest change will be BC judging where along with the current vet card there
will be a fluid check including saliva, sweat, blood and urine and it'll be
conducted somewhat like a soil pH test. Endurance will not be a poor mans
sport because entry fees will go up along with the cost of transportation.
People will pay more for their Horses than they do the saddles and a good pickup
will sell for 100,000$. Ridecamps will be jovial affairs that people come
to socialize as much as for the competition. A very large amount of horses
will be w/out nails and a few different approachs will be utilized including an
epoxy/absorbant that can be applied and dried in 10 seconds. thats enough
for me on this cold, rainy, snowy, windy winters day...
