My gelding's granddam lived to be 34.  Her owner tried her on Purina's 
Equine Senior and didn't have much luck.  She could still eat her corn 
and sweet feed but not hay.  What worked for her was that plus alfalfa 
pellets, and Buckeye's Wrangler (a complete feed).  Kept her feeling and 
looking quite good.  So as someone else mentioned, different feeds work 
for different horses.
